There are some beauty products you buy because everybody on the internet is shouting about them.
And then there are the products you discover quietly, through somebody whose opinion you actually trust.
SKINTIFIC was the second kind for me.
I didn’t discover the brand while trawling through affiliate programmes looking for something I could make money from.

I wasn’t hunting for a brand partnership.
I didn’t receive a PR box.
Nobody asked me to write this.
In fact, at the time of writing, I’m not an affiliate for SKINTIFIC at all.

Hook a girl up. I’d love to hear from you.
But until then, this recommendation earns me precisely nothing.
Which should tell you something.

SKINTIFIC Cover Glow foundation: the short version

I bought it myself.
I have used it repeatedly.
I have bought it again.
And yes, I would recommend it.
What I like most is the balance.
It gives me enough coverage to make a visible difference, but it still looks like skin rather than a layer sitting on top of it.
On my skin, it is buildable, forgiving, glowy without looking greasy and much better with warm and olive undertones than a lot of affordable foundations I have tried.
It will not suit everybody.
No foundation does.
But if you like the idea of looking like yourself, just slightly more rested and expensive, this is exactly the sort of finish I mean.

If you like full coverage, very matte foundation or a finish that looks deliberately perfected, this may not be your one.

If you like skin to still look like skin?

I rate it.

For me, the Cover Glow sits in that lovely middle ground where you can make yourself look noticeably better without your makeup entering the room before you do.

It is buildable.

It works well with my olive skin.

It does not immediately settle into every line.

And the finish gives me exactly what I want from an everyday foundation.

Would I buy it again? I already have.

That is usually my clearest recommendation.

I found SKINTIFIC in Bali

My introduction to SKINTIFIC came through my friend Wayan in Bali.

Wayan is a makeup artist and somebody whose beauty recommendations I genuinely listen to.

She knows that I’m into skincare.

She knows I love makeup.

And she also knows that one of my favourite things about travelling is finding products that aren’t necessarily sitting on every shelf back home in the UK.

There is something incredibly satisfying about somebody local saying:

“Try this.”

Especially when that person actually knows what they’re talking about.

SKINTIFIC became one of those discoveries.

And it became a quick favourite.

Not because I spent months working methodically through every product before finally declaring the foundation the winner.

Quite the opposite.

I tried SKINTIFIC.

I loved SKINTIFIC.

And because I loved it, I then proceeded to try what feels like half the company.

Which is probably the more accurate version of events.

I may have developed a slight SKINTIFIC problem

Apart from some of their newest releases, including the new lip products I haven’t managed to get my hands on yet, I have tried an alarming amount of the SKINTIFIC range.

Skincare.

Makeup.

Various bits that caught my attention because apparently I have no self control around an interesting beauty product.

I have even tried the little icy sponge that comes in a spray can.

Yes.

A sponge.

In a spray can.

And it comes out cold.

Beauty products are becoming increasingly unhinged and I fully support it.

I could have done with that during the British summer we’ve just had.

But we’re not here to talk about my questionable SKINTIFIC collection.

We’re here to talk about the pink cushion.

SKINTIFIC Cover Glow cushion foundation

This is the one.

The pink SKINTIFIC cushion foundation.

And what I love about it is actually quite difficult to describe until you’ve used a foundation that gets this balance right.

It gives you coverage.

But it doesn’t immediately announce:

HELLO. I AM WEARING FOUNDATION.

It still looks like skin.

Just better skin.

SKINTIFIC, for me, has absolutely nailed the:

“You on a good day” aesthetic.

You’ve slept.

You’ve had water.

Your hormones are behaving themselves.

Your skin has decided not to start a personal vendetta against you.

That look.

Except sometimes none of those things are true and you’ve simply applied this foundation.

I’ll take it.

One layer is genuinely enough for everyday makeup

The formula is buildable, and that matters.

With one application, I get enough coverage to even things out and make my skin look healthier without completely masking it.

If I want more coverage, I can build it.

And as I add more, it starts concealing more too.

So instead of immediately reaching for a heavy foundation and then piling concealer over the top, I can decide how much I actually need.

Some days I want barely there.

Some days my skin has apparently chosen violence.

Same foundation.

Different amount.

That flexibility is one of the biggest reasons I rate it.

And it doesn’t settle into every line on my face

This is becoming increasingly important to me with foundation.

I don’t want to put makeup on and then watch it spend the next three hours finding every tiny line I didn’t know existed.

There are foundations that somehow make your skin look older than it did before you applied them.

Fantastic.

Exactly what everybody wants from their makeup.

The Cover Glow doesn’t behave like that on my skin.

It gives me that glow without becoming greasy looking and, importantly, it doesn’t seem determined to

settle into every crease and announce itself.

That makes it much easier to wear as an everyday product.

And I think that’s an important distinction.

A foundation can look incredible under studio lighting for twenty minutes.

I want something that still looks good when I’m just existing.

SKINTIFIC Cover Glow for olive and warm undertones

This is probably one of my favourite things about SKINTIFIC.

I’m olive skinned.

And if you also have olive or warm skin, you may already know the struggle.

For some makeup brands, apparently:

warm = orange

Or, occasionally:

warm = vaguely jaundiced yellow

Neither is particularly helpful.

SKINTIFIC has been one of the more affordable brands I’ve tried where I can find warm and neutral shades that don’t immediately make me look as though I’ve been painted with a satsuma.

And because this formula melts into the skin rather than sitting heavily on top of it, I can personally get away with more than one shade.

That is useful for me because my skin obviously changes between winter and summer.

I’m not exactly the same colour all year round.

But even outside seasonal changes, the buildable nature of the product means I don’t need the shade to behave like wall paint.

If I’m applying a lighter layer, a couple of shades within the right undertone family can work surprisingly well for me.

Obviously, that is my skin.

Your face may disagree completely.

Makeup is rude like that.

But if you struggle with olive or warm undertones, I absolutely think the range is worth looking at.

Is SKINTIFIC Cover Glow good value?

It isn’t the cheapest foundation.

Let’s be fair about that.

There are cheaper foundations.

Absolutely.

But this is also nowhere near the top end of what you can spend on complexion products.

And that’s where I think SKINTIFIC sits in quite a nice place.

It isn’t trying to win purely by being the cheapest thing on the shelf.

It feels like you’re paying a little more because there has actually been some thought put into the formula, the finish and the packaging.

For me, the performance justifies it.

Would I rather buy a slightly more expensive foundation I actually enjoy wearing than three cheaper foundations that sit in a drawer because they make my skin look awful?

Yes.

Every time.

Cheap is only good value if you actually use it.

The funny thing is, SKINTIFIC isn’t really an underdog anymore

When I first started using the brand, it felt like one of those things I’d discovered while travelling that wasn’t particularly easy to pick up at home.

Which naturally meant I would go to Indonesia and behave like SKINTIFIC was about to be discontinued forever.

Into the suitcase it went.

Several products.

Backups.

Backups for the backups.

Basically enough stock to suggest I was planning to open an unauthorised concession from my bedroom.

Thankfully, social media has started doing what social media does.

People discovered it.

TikTok discovered it.

Beauty creators started talking about it.

And now SKINTIFIC products are increasingly accessible in places like the UK and the US.

Which means I no longer need to wait until I travel to Indonesia before attempting to haul several pallets of beauty products home in my suitcase.

My baggage allowance is grateful.

Is SKINTIFIC Cover Glow better than every foundation ever made?

No.

And I don’t think any beauty review should pretend that one product works for absolutely everybody.

Your skin type matters.

Your preferred finish matters.

How much coverage you like matters.

Your undertone matters.

And the way you prepare your skin underneath foundation can completely change how a product behaves.

But on my skin?

Solid recommendation.

Particularly if you like your foundation looking like skin rather than foundation.

If your makeup philosophy is:

“I still want to look like myself, I just want myself to look slightly more rested and expensive.”

Hello.

This might be your one.

Who I would recommend SKINTIFIC Cover Glow to

I would look at this one if:

• you prefer a natural or glowy finish
• you want buildable rather than immediately heavy coverage
• you still want your actual skin to look visible
• you struggle with foundations looking too orange on warm or olive undertones
• you want something easy enough for everyday makeup
• you dislike foundation settling dramatically into lines
• you like being able to add coverage only where you need it

I would probably look elsewhere if you want:

• a very matte finish
• very heavy coverage from the first application
• a completely perfected, full glam base

That is not really what I love this for.

Would I buy SKINTIFIC Cover Glow again?

I already have.

And that is usually the most useful answer I can give you.

I don’t need to tell you I’ve tested it for twelve hours beneath professional photography lights.

I can tell you something much more relevant.

I’ve used it.

I’ve gone back to it.

I’ve tried enough other SKINTIFIC products that the brand itself became a genuine favourite.

And the Cover Glow cushion remains one of the products I am very comfortable recommending.

Not because I’m being paid.

Not because somebody sent it to me.

Because I like it.

Simple.

My quick take before you buy

If you like skin like makeup

This is where the Cover Glow makes the most sense to me.

The appeal is not that it disguises every sign of being human.

It improves what is already there.

Start lighter than you think you need

Because I find it buildable, I would rather apply a lighter layer first and add more where I actually need it.

Undertone matters

My experience with the warm and neutral shades has been positive, particularly on my olive skin.

That does not mean every shade will work for every olive or warm complexion.

Your skin preparation still matters

Foundation does not exist in isolation.

How your skin is behaving and what you put underneath it can affect the finish.

Repurchase matters more to me than hype

I have bought it again.

For me, that means more than saying something looked good once.

Forgiving.

Glowy without looking like I’ve dipped myself in cooking oil.

Enough coverage to make a difference.

Not so much that my actual skin disappears underneath it.

It is simply me on a good day.

And considering some mornings even I haven’t managed to achieve that…

The little pink cushion deserves some credit.
