I didn’t even know the exact moment the nickname stuck until years later, when I found out the real culprit: a Versace piece I’d picked up for a super low price — a charity shop find, long before thrifting became fashionable again. That little win basically sealed my fate.

The name Boujie Buddha comes from that: how people have always described me, and now the lifestyle Len and I have built.

Buddha is the easy part. I’m naturally chilled, reflective, balanced, and optimistic — I’ll find the silver lining, and I can usually see both sides of the coin. I’m also a massive foodie, so when I say “Buddha,” I’m basically picturing the laughing Buddha as my inner spirit.

Boujie is the part I reclaimed. In my family, “posh” was never really a compliment — more like a teeny, tiny, little dig. And the funny thing is, my family were working class, so “bourgeois” couldn’t be further from the truth. But I do love nice things, a good vibe, and a life that feels elevated. The difference is: I’m not about pretending or overspending. I’m about being sensible with my time and money — spotting opportunities, and making the good stuff more accessible and easier to find.
